I design TALK - by Claudio Moderini @ MIT Media Lab

Where: MIT Media Lab, 443a, "Orange and Green Room," 4th Floor

When: Tuesday, May 20th, 5:30 - 7PM

Envisioning by I-Design focuses on the intersection between the contemporary design scene, which is in the middle of a high-speed transformation, and interaction design research, processes, structuresand practises.
In recent years some new signals in the design world have emerged depicting the multidimensional, fragmented, complex, global and sustainable nature of the contemporary design.
The design territory today is organized around a multitude of "design spheres" (mass design, public design, affirmative design and personal design), each representing a different approach, highlighting specific design objectives and values, and involving different actors, stakeholders and players, with their culture, knowledge and habits.
Envisioning by I-Design aim is both to investigate the role of interaction design, whose focus is to support human behaviors, desires and experiences, and the role of conceptual design within complex design processes by:

- analyzing concepts and visions that crosses social, technological and business transformation;

- considering the relation between emerging technologies and innovative interaction paradigms;

- discussing on how interaction design and emergent design practices are bringing new input to design strategy and business

Envisioning by I-Design will explore the boundaries of interaction design through a subjective viewpoint based on the design experience and approach of Domus Academy.
The design concepts that will be presented are samples of the emergent issues resulting from the activity, desires and visions both of young designers, professionals and corporate partners who participated to interaction design research workshops organized by the institute over the last five years.
