INTERACTION DESIGN

interaction designInteraction design, also commonly known as IxD, is the art of coming up with digital products and services that are usually very communicative and collaborative. This requires enough knowledge in global design education. Therefore, the interaction design is the perfect way of bringing out academic excellence and practical relevance.

The interaction design is taught in some of the top universities such as Stanford and Cambridge. The SAP labs is another institution where interaction design is taught amidst the presence of the very many competitive and the best designers. The members are able to participate in the IDF global design events where they can learn the skills perfectly.

There are different types of interaction design modes that exist, some of which include the following:

Goal oriented design

This design type majorly focuses on satisfying the desires of the people who will use the product. In this method, the goals of the user are fully defined and understand and the design method is usually inclined towards achieving the solutions to such problem related needs. UX or user experience is part of the concept and it’s widely applied to whole websites and specific web pages like this one where gifts for parent’s golden anniversary can be found.

Personas

This is usually the characteristic behavior of the clients and the potential customers of the products and services. The designers therefore encapsulate the most noticeable behavioral patterns.

Cognitive dimensions

The major concepts that are applied in designing using this approach is the information on the user interacts with the interface.

Affective interaction design

In this interaction design method, the designers are also interested in capturing the emotional responses of the targeted group. Therefore, there is the urgent need of the products designed being able to convey the emotions of the users.

Interaction design is therefore one of the major design fields that is independent of Science and Engineering, which involves a lot of creativity and imagination. This field of computing differs slightly from software engineering in that its focus is not on designing projects for technical stakeholders but rather solve the desires and requirements of those who are interested in utilizing the product.
